Week 2 - First Playtest (Dean)

For my prototype I recreated a miniature version of a baseball field by drawing a diamond and then sketching 4 bases at each point; 1st base, 2nd base, 3rd base and home base. My prototype consists of 2 players, 1 against the other competing to get the most points by the end of the game.

I haven't quite decided on the length of the game just yet or how it ends, the original way baseball would be played would consist of 9 innings and the person at the end with the highest score wins but I think with how I've created the rules for my prototype that the game would go on for quite some time longer.

The process of my prototype begins with the player encountering the "Pitching" stage where the player has to roll a D20 dice within 3 rolls, each player has 3 players on the pitch that they must at least get one hit with each or they're out, once you end up with 3 players "striking out" the 1st players turn ends and switches over to the 2nd player. So back to the D20, if it lands on an odd number the player misses their "at bat" but if the player lands on a even number they hit the ball which is a paper triangle that you have to flick, to determine which side of the triangle the player has to hold before they flick they roll another dice which is a D4 which determines which side to hold the "baseball triangle", once determined the player flicks the triangle and tries to land it in between spaces either closest to the player to first base (lands player in 1st base), second to third base (lands player in 2nd base) and finally third base (lands player in third base). To score a point you have to move your player around the field following this system to get your players back to home base to score a point.
